Engagement Rate Calculator

Knowing how many followers you have is just the start. What really matters to brands, partners and the algorithm is your engagement rate: the proportion of people who interact with your content. The Engagement Calculator shows your index and compares it with industry averages so you know exactly where you stand.

What is engagement rate?

Engagement rate is the percentage of followers who interact with your posts (likes + comments). It is a far more reliable indicator than raw follower count for evaluating the real strength of a profile.

Formula: (likes + comments) ÷ followers × 100.

Benchmarks by platform

On Instagram, a rate below 1% is considered low; between 1% and 3.5% is adequate; above 3.5% is great. On TikTok the numbers are higher — above 9% is excellent. On Twitter/X the values are naturally lower (< 1%). On LinkedIn, 1–5% is considered good.

How to use

Enter your follower count, average likes per post and average comments per post. The result appears immediately with a visual bar and a comparison with industry benchmarks. Use it as a reference to adjust your content strategy.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my rate drop even though I gained followers?

The larger the profile, the lower the rate tends to be. Gaining many inactive followers or via ads dilutes engagement.

Does the formula include saves and shares?

Our calculator uses the basic formula (likes + comments). Some advanced tools include saves — benchmarks vary depending on the formula used.

Do I need to connect my account?

No. You enter the numbers manually, with no connection to social networks.

What rate is considered good?

It depends on the platform and profile size. On Instagram, above 3.5% is excellent for most. Micro-influencers tend to have higher rates.
