How to decode a QR code from an image
Save the screenshot or photo to your device, click “Upload image” and select the file. On a computer, you can also drag the image into the page or paste it directly with Ctrl+V. Decoding happens in the browser and the result appears in a field that is easy to copy.
For the best result, keep the entire QR code visible with some clear space around it. Sharp, well-lit, front-facing photos are easier to read than blurry, dark or heavily tilted images.
Scan a QR code with your camera
On a phone, choose “Use camera” and grant access when the browser asks. The tool prioritizes the rear camera and scans continuously; frame the code inside the guide and hold the device steady for a moment.
The camera stays active only while scanning. It stops as soon as a code is detected, and you can close it manually at any time.
Links are shown before they open
A QR code can hide any text, including a malicious address designed to resemble a bank or store. For safety, UseHubTools displays the full content and never redirects automatically. Check the domain, look for spelling tricks and do not enter passwords or banking details on unfamiliar pages.
The “Open link” button appears only for valid HTTP or HTTPS addresses. Other content remains available to copy without running hidden commands.
What content can be decoded
Besides web pages, the decoder recognizes plain text, Wi-Fi credentials, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS messages and vCard contacts. The original payload is preserved so you can copy exactly what was encoded.
Damaged, heavily customized or partially covered QR codes may be impossible to recover. Try another photo, improve the lighting or move the camera closer without cutting off the code edges.
Privacy: local processing
The image and camera frames are analyzed locally by your own browser. They are not uploaded, saved or associated with your account. When you leave the page, the image is gone from the tool.
Local processing also avoids upload queues and server delays. Reading time depends only on image clarity and your device performance.

Can I read a QR code shown on my phone screen?
Yes. Take a screenshot and upload it with “Upload image”. If the QR code is on another device, you can point the camera at it instead.
Is my photo or camera feed sent to a server?
No. Decoding happens locally in the browser. UseHubTools does not upload or store images or camera frames.
Why was the QR code not found?
Common causes include blur, glare, poor lighting, a cropped code or a code that is too small. Try a straight, well-lit photo with the entire code visible.
Is it safe to open every decoded link?
No. Unknown QR codes can hide phishing pages. The tool shows the address first so you can inspect the domain before opening it.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Image upload works in current browsers. Camera scanning requires HTTPS and user permission; both conditions are met on the published site.
